Here’s a few bits and pieces that I’ve been working on for Fly FM recently

Inside Trent Logo

I created this logo for the Inside Trent show, a show that provides information on all the weekly goings on at our university. After playing around with a few ideas, i came up with the idea of having the Inside form the Top of the T of Trent. I thought this was quite a nice play on the ‘inside trent’ name without being too complicated.

The logo has been adapted below for use in different situations by Stephanie Coombs (designer for the Students Union website and Platform magazine), i believe this shows versatility of my initial idea and i like what she has done with it.

I also have come up with this graphic for the Fly FM Presenter pages, its still a work in progress and needs to be touched up here and there but i think the foundations are in place and it looks a lot better than the plain text based pages we had before.

Last year i decided to get involved with the uni’s radio station, Fly Fm, and i enjoyed it so much that at the end of the year i successfully applied for the Position of Head of Production on the committee. This means that i am responsible for the majority of production on the station such as show jingles, adverts, editing interviews and events that we record into packages ready for broadcast and overseeing the updating of website content.

With a somewhat lacklustre year of broadcasting last year much hard work was undertaken during the summer months to ensure we were ready to broadcast on the first day of freshers week and that we would re-launch with a bang!

A full schedule was devised and every show needed jingles, adverts, promos and other such radio friendly goodness! Which is where i came in, using mainly Adobe Audition i have been working on this task over the last few months and am still very busy up to this day. It was a big task but with the help of Mark Crossley we managed to get the job done and were ready for freshers week.
